United agree £21m fee for Benfica midfielder Nicolas Gaitan
Manchester United sold Saidy Janko to Celtic this summer and if signed, Pedro is expected to slot into the club’s Under-21 team.
The Spanish attacker has been heavily touted with a move away from the Nou Camp this summer with Man United being heavily linked. The attacker has a World Cup, five La Liga titles, three Copa del Rey’s and three Champions League on his CV.
“Benfica and Man United are in negotiations over Gaitán and one offer includes Rafael to join Benfica,”. “If the talks proceed, it won’t be hard to reach an agreement”.
United will look to close the transfer once Angel Di Maria’s move to Paris Saint Germain has been concluded.
Obviously, any transfer speculation should be taken with a pinch of salt, particularly any involving Gaitan to United as this story has been on-going for what feels like years, but it would be interesting if van Gaal was trying to sign the Argentinean global.
According to Portuguese news outlet O’Jogo, United have agreed a fee in principle of around £20million for the attacking midfielder.
While they are yet to get a response from the Brazilian outfit, Manchester United are confident that they will be able to agree a deal for Pedro.
Do you think Pedro and Stones would complete United’s squad?
