Walking Dead Bury Me Here spoilers: Who dies? Rick, Sasha, Aaron?
Yes, he is our leading man but actually with Negan around now it feels for the first time that the show could go on without him. When the Saviors return the following day for their – again, this is such an absurd item for such a large amount of drama – twelfth melon, Morgan proceeds to whack Richard over the head with his now-returned staff and choke him to death. Will he be powerful enough to make him want to fight alongside Rick?
“I had a family I lost it to this world”, Richard once told Morgan and Carol.
Morgan figures it all out and kills Richard in front of everyone.
Afterwards, he stopped by Carol’s cottage to tell her Abraham (Michael Cudlitz) and Glenn (Stephen Yeun) are dead, something Daryl refused to tell her episodes earlier. Meanwhile, Carol goes to Morgan for confirmation of Daryl’s story about their friends’ fate, and a shocking loss sends Morgan over the edge.
We knew this was coming.
Last week’s episode took the foot off the pedal in a different manner – it was a departure instalment not really created to propel the story onwards so much as reestablish character motivations and make the mandatory reminder that, hey, pretty much anyone can die at any time. She has a LOT of nerve and seems willing to risk everything to get her own back. So she offers him her hideaway to work through the internal darkness that’s returned with a vengeance. They’ve successfully been offering up their tributes every week, but things have been a bit more tense lately. I’m talking about the Morgan we knew from The Walking Dead pilot, the Morgan we knew from the third season episode, “Clear”.
Morgan then went to Carol to tell her everything, who then went to Ezekiel, who agreed to fight – but “not today”.
But Carol’s journey has been taking place since the start of the season. Ben watches them practice, and something bad is probably going to happen to one of the brothers. Not only does he relive Ben’s death, but he also has flashes of his deceased wife and son. Yes, the man who made a decision to kill no more is back to his murderous ways.
Benjamin’s death winds up bringing Morgan full circle and serving as a turning point. I do wonder if Morgan would still have ended up in the same place at the end if he hadn’t learned of Richard’s involvement. Or would he still have tried to make a play for peace? When we last saw Morgan, he was sitting on the porch of Carol’s little house – and sharpening one end of the stick he’s been using all season to not-kill people to a decidedly deadly point.
Morgan goes to Richard’s room, and from the look on his face, Richard realizes that Morgan knows what he did. To that end, he arranges a blockade of shopping carts – in the shape of an arrow, pointing to an empty burial plot – and while everyone’s distracted, he hides one melon. And it just so happened to be incredibly convincing because Morgan’s rage was entirely real. But that does not mean that your favorite TWD characters will not die, but rather you will not have to wait until the season premiere of Season 8 of The Walking Dead to find out who they are.
For example, Carol wakes up having a Ripley moment, waking up from a nightmare in a sweat, which clearly lets us know she can take herself out of the fray but she can’t run from the memories or reality which is always beckoning just outside her white, iron fence.
Also, though Ezekiel leads the Kingdom, it was appropriate for the change in the Kingdom’s role in the rebellion to not focus fully on him.
“Once Olivia died and Eugene was taken because of Rosita’s actions, she has nothing left to live for”, Nicotero tells EW. Was it what you wanted?
