Ed Sheeran to join Game Of Thrones as guest star
Series showrunner David Benioff shared the news at the South by Southwest Film Festival in Austin, Texas over the weekend, during a Game of Thrones Q&A. “For years we’ve tried to include Ed Sheeran in the show to surprise Maisie, this time we finally made it”, they remarked.
That wasn’t the only big reveal from team GoT at SXSW, though.
No details of Ed’s role have been released but the upcoming season of the show will have its world premiere on Sunday, July 16, 2017.
Speaking about how the writing process breaks down, Weiss and Benioff said that they would split the load with two other writers.

What we do know though, is that Season 7 will be the second to last season, with the eighth season spanning over just six episodes.
