Kyle Busch, Joey Logano fight at NASCAR race in Las Vegas
Last week: Keselowski won his first race of 2017 in Atlanta. Keselowski was able drive his hobbled vehicle to a fifth-place finish. “It wouldn’t turn and I lost brakes so that’s a pretty god indicator that something is wrong”. “You just talk about it, but [Busch] wasn’t in a talking mood”.
Busch ended up sliding across the finish line in 22 place. “You don’t have to fight, but whatever”.
The Kobalt 400 was really a two-man race right from the start.
“They’re still hard, they’re still tough”, Truex said of stage racing. A late caution and restart would setup a scramble to the finish. Props to Brad Keselowski and Kyle Larson for proving me wrong, but darn you at the time. “Obviously, it didn’t make it”.
Kyle Busch and Joey Logano made contact in the final turn which resulted in Busch spinning onto pit road and finishing 22nd.
Truex was able to pull out the win despite some track bar problems.
Jimmie Johnson led 16 laps in the third and final stage.
Brad Keselowski, who led the race until two laps remaining, had some sort of an issue with his No. 2 Miller Lite Ford, causing him to lose a lot speed.
Busch didn’t appear willing to let what happened at the track stay at the track. I was driving my little but off and I couldn’t keep him behind me.
Although Truex Jr. put on a dominate performance, his eight-career series win didn’t come so easily. “At the end we have to go to inspection and stuff, so we’re not allowed to look”.
“That’s how Joey races”, Busch added.
There was some contact with Logano’s auto that caused the wreck, and Busch was fuming after watching him finish fourth in the race. Pit crew was unbelievable today and you have to thank them.
Busch, the 2015 Nascar Spring Cup Series champion, was shown walking away with blood running down his forehead. As for Logano, when asked whether any punches were landed, he said, “None to me”. “Hitting his auto wasn’t intentional”. “Wish it was 265 laps (instead of 267) but it’s not”. Kyle and I usually race well together, usually we don’t have any issues.
