Kraft recalls 36000 cases of cheese citing possible choking hazard
As a result, the film could be unintentionally consumed and present a choking hazard.
Kraft has issued a massive recall over a possible choking hazard. Although the recall is voluntary, the Kraft Heinz Company is warning consumers to refrain from eating the cheese product, and to return the unused portion for a full refund.
Select batches of he company’s Kraft Singles – in three and four pound packages – are being recalled due to the risk of a small part of the packaging film sticking to the cheese slice after the rest of the wrapper has been removed. “The Best When Used By Date and Manufacturing Code are stamped on both the larger 3-lb. and 4-lb. boxes and the enclosed individual 1-lb. packages”, it added.
The company said it shipped the cheese to stores in the United States, Puerto Rico and Grand Cayman.
Consumers in the U.S. and Puerto Rico can also contact Kraft Heinz Consumer Relations for a full refund, at 1-800-432-3101, Monday through Friday, 9am to 6pm Eastern.
No other sizes, varieties or code dates are included in the recall. The prior recall included 42,000 cases of their macaroni and cheese dinners that had the “Best if Used By Date” of September 18, 2015, through October 11, 2015, and had the specific code “C2”.
