Why the Galaxy S8 Won’t Have the iPhone 8’s Slickest Feature
The credible verdict will have to come after both phones are officially released and actual units are tested real-time.
Samsung Electronics presaged that the Galaxy S8 will try new innovative features by presenting various mobile phone use cases in a 30-second Galaxy S8 teaser video under the theme of “This Is a Phone”. The company provided no specific timeframe to accompany that announcement, but its wording suggests that Samsung’s 2016 flagship duo will receive its next security patch by the end of the month.
The iPhone 7 has some great features, such as a haptic home button and an extremely vibrant screen. It is important to note that Samsung halted the update initially following some last minute bugs. Of course, the fact the iPhone is compatible with iCloud and most apps is a bonus, too. “Due to some limits of iris scanning such as speed and accuracy, we have made a decision to add facial recognition to the Galaxy S8”. The Galaxy S8 Plus is about the same height as the iPhone 7 Plus, but is 4mm narrower than the iPhone 7 Plus. According to Tech Times, Samsung could be dropping the dual-camera setup due to cost and design issues. In addition to the usual lineup of proximity and light sensors, a front camera and speaker, the two other cutouts could be hiding IR transmitter and receiver for facial recognition.
Samsung Galaxy S6 edge must be rooted, unlocked and installed with a recovery tool like TWRP or CWM.
“The report goes on to note that Apple is now testing multiple prototypes alongside the iPhone 8”. Samsung’s all-out efforts to embed a fingerprint scanner under the display failed as the technology could not be developed as per schedule.
As per 9to5Mac’s report, Kuo said that apart from its full screen, the Galaxy S8 lacks sufficiently attractive selling points. The Galaxy S8, meanwhile, is taller than the iPhone 7, and less than 1mm wider.
It will also be fast and won’t lag because it is powered by an A11 processor with 3-4GB of RAM.
BlackBerry is perhaps the odd one out on this list, but some nostalgia fans and those looking for a more hands-on experience will appreciate having a physical keyboard back nowadays.
Of course the battery capacity of the Samsung Galaxy S8 + will not be 100% confirmed until the Korean manufacturer shows its new phones within two weeks, but it is quite feasible that these data are real. Last month, AT&T (T) offered a “buy one, get one free” promotion for the iPhone 7 if a customer added a new line.
So, this is what you can expect from Samsung and Apple this year. The only catch? That should be out in September 2017, so you have a while to wait.
