Samsung Planning To Kill Off Fingerprint Scanner?
Samsung has just announced that the Samsung Galaxy S8 will be released on March 29. Leaks well ahead of its release date suggest Samsung could include features not seen before in smartphones (read facial recognition).
It is normal that Samsung will present their 2017 J7 in about a month since the last J7 has been around for quite some time now. With the new flagship, it hopes to bounce back from its former glory after the dilemma brought about by the hazardous and discontinued Galaxy Note 7. Going by the screenshots, we can conveniently claim that Samsung has given its new flagship an interface makeover with remodeled app icons.
Banana IT also have reduced the price of the 32GB Galaxy S7 Edge to 17,900 baht. Older Galaxy models feature capacitive buttons located within the bottom bezel. The front-facing camera will be 8-megapixels. This is also because the front shows an nearly bezel-less large display so there really is no space for the home button supposedly at the bottom. The Galaxy S8 is loaded with artificial intelligence (AI) virtual secretary Bixby, iris and fingerprint sensors and a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 (or Exynos 8895) processor. Kuo attributes differences to greater demand for RAM specs in these countries. Likewise, it’s now unclear what exactly kept Samsung from updating the global versions of its flagship phones on a monthly basis, but the company opted for this approach in most parts of the world and not just the U.S.
As per 9to5Mac’s report, Kuo said that apart from its full screen, the Galaxy S8 lacks sufficiently attractive selling points. These numbers would dwarf Samsung’s current offerings. It is also said to come with a 3,500 mAh battery, which means users can enjoy using their devices for longer periods of time without needing to charge.
But most of those leaks have shown either the black or the silver version of the S8.
Korean smartphone maker, Samsung has reportedly released the 2017 editions of its Galaxy A5 and Galaxy A7 handsets in India.
The Galaxy S8 is looking like it’ll be even smaller/slimmer than the G6, which makes sense since it has dual-curve displays.
On the back flanking the camera is the fingerprint scanner to the right and an LED flash and heart rate sensor combo on the left.
