Emma Watson plays down Beauty and the Beast’s ‘gay moment’
According to the local Disney representative, they are now reviewing a new release date for the movie here in Malaysia.

The release of Disney’s live-action remake of Beauty and the Beast starring Emma Watson has been postponed in Malaysia. As anyone who’s made a bad choice at karaoke can tell you, those girls love their key changes – see “Reflection”, and don’t get me started on “Let It Go”.
Acknowledging that she had been committed to Beauty and the Beast for years, Watson says she felt her performance wouldn’t be best served by splitting time between Bill Condon’s fairy-tale adaptation and Chazelle’s tale about an aspiring actress in love with a jazz pianist.
Malaysian news site The Star Online quoted Disney’s Malaysian arm as saying that release had been put off pending an “internal review”.
However, some fans channelled their frustration into something more productive.
She added: “I don’t want people going into this movie thinking that there’s like a huge narrative there”.
“I was riding three or four times a week, singing four times a week, dancing three or four times a week”.
Abdul Halim said that each films that had been given the approval for screening, date and place of screening is no longer under the jurisdiction of the Censorship Board but its distributor or cinema operators.
“We have approved the film so there is no more issue with the LPF”.
The theatre in Henagar, Alabama, has not confirmed if it was ever scheduled to screen the film, and has enacted the ban without having ever seen the film.
Local theater chain GSC Cinemas said it will refund customers who bought tickets in advance.
The company did not provide an explanation for why it postponed the opening date.
Russian Federation has taken to banning those under 16 from watching the movie. They are joined by Luke Evans as Gaston, Josh Gad as LeFou and Kevin Kline as Belle’s father Maurice.
