University of Tennessee grad programs among best in US News rankings
Illinois State is one of four Illinois public universities named in the 2018 rankings for graduate education programs, one of two listed for nursing master’s programs, and one of three Illinois public universities listed in the part-time MBA category. The information comes from late 2016 and early 2017. In each field, we also present rankings of programs in various specialty areas based on reputation data alone.
The magazine scored law schools by asking deans and faculty members, as well as lawyers, recruiters and judges, to rate schools on a one to five scale. In the law specialties rankings, Baylor’s trial advocacy program also moved up to No. 3 in the nation. Rankings in these categories were based exclusively on reputation surveys.
La Salle University has consistently been recognized for providing a great value to its students, by Money magazine (5th on the 2016 list of “50 Colleges That Add the Most Value”), Forbes (“America’s Best Value College” list), and The Economist (“Top 100 Schools in the USA for Value”).
Emory’s Nell Hodgson Woodruff School of Nursing was ranked 4th in the nation, up from 8th a year ago.
For its 2018 Best Graduate Schools Rankings, released today, U.S. News analyzed almost 2,000 graduate and specialty programs in a wide range of disciplines. UCLA’s graduate programs in English, math, sociology and history ranked in the top 10 of their respective categories.
Melissa Woodward, a graduate student in the Mary Lou Fulton Teachers College, said she chose the higher and postsecondary education program because she knew she wanted an immersive experience and saw the rankings improving every year. “Our programs are created to prepare graduates to lead and transform today’s complex healthcare environments”.
Several of the UW nursing school’s specialty programs also received recognition: adult gerontology primary care nurse practitioner was 7th, family nurse practitioner was 3rd, pediatric primary care nurse practitioner was 7th, and psychiatric mental health across life span nurse practitioner was 8th. “And we are proud of the students we train; they are the next generation of health care leaders”. “This honor is a testament to the dedication and hard work of Cornell’s extraordinary faculty, students and staff”.
Here are top rankings for OH graduate schools and also rankings for northeast OH schools.
The program is tied at No. 6 with the Georgia Institute of Technology, Princeton University, the University of Texas, Austin, and the University of Wisconsin, Madison.
Wayne Davis, dean of the Tickle College of Engineering, said, “We are seeing some of the gains from our investment in additional high quality faculty”.
U.S. News looks at peer assessment, LSAT and GRE scores, median undergraduate GPA and placement success, among other things, in determining the rankings.
Engineering: 18th overall. Ranked specialties include chemical engineering (6th), computer engineering (9th), industrial/manufacturing/systems engineering (8th) and nuclear engineering (3rd).
