James has triple-double, Cavs beat Pistons 128-96
Cavaliers: Sanders will probably spend two weeks at Canton of the NBA Development League before playing for Cleveland. It also marked the 7th time this season the Cavs have scored at least 70 points in a half.
LeBron James is interested to see if Sanders can help.
The Knicks trailed 59-46 with 9:07 left in the third after Turner’s basket but closed out the quarter on an 18-3 run, capped by Anthony’s 3-pointer that gave NY a 64-62 lead with 52 seconds left.
According to Yahoo Sports, Sanders underwent a physical on Monday after making the trip to Cleveland on Sunday. “They played great, they knocked down shots and that game was over early”. The 44 points in the opening frame are the second most in a quarter this season for Cleveland (46 points in 1st Q vs. POR on 11/23).
“He did that to mess with y’all”, Coach Tyronn Lue said before the game. Like James, he sat out the fourth quarter.
Kyrie Irving contributed 26 points, to score 20-plus in a career-high 16 successive games for the Eastern Conference leaders.
“He hasn’t done anything different”, Lue said about James.
In contrast to a number of previous instances, the Cavs’ reserves were able to put forth a strong effort in maintaining the huge lead.
Center Larry Sanders was out of basketball, but thanks to the Cavs, he’s back.
The forward, who had knee surgery last month, is expected to return during the team’s road trip that begins Saturday. We’ve said that for two years. “Everything that happens for him is a step in the process. He liked the ovation he got”. Richard Jefferson, Iman Shumpert, Derrick Williams, Deron Williams and J.R. Smith all collected double-digit points, giving the Cavs seven different players to surpass double figures on Tuesday. On the rebounding side, Tristan Thompson grabbed nine boards off the glass. The Cavs made 19 3-pointers, well short of the NBA-record 25 treys they sank March 3 but good enough for the most 3-pointers Detroit has allowed this season.
The Pistons had no answer either, shooting just 37 percent from the floor and totaling 55 points among their starting five. He will drive back to Auburn Hills for Wednesday’s game against the Utah Jazz.
