Minnesota Vikings to visit with RB Lavatius Murray

Eddie Lacy’s agent says the former Green Bay running back is joining the Seattle Seahawks. They can bring Adrian Peterson back or focus on drafting a running back in the second or third round.
As previously reported by the Inquisitr, Lacy’s contract with the Seahawks is for $5.55 million. The guaranteed money brackets him between Derrick Henry and T.J. He has a career 3,435 rushing yards and 23 rushing touchdowns with the Green and Gold. He was averaging 3.4 yards after contact, but wasn’t viewed as a success because he hadn’t scored any touchdowns at that point.
During the visit, Seattle reportedly checked Peterson’s physical condition, as he is coming off knee surgery to fix a torn meniscus last September.
The dominos have started to fall with this year’s National Football League free agent running back class. The Raiders are likely losing Latavius Murray in free agency, and the Patriots are always looking to add veteran players at a discount.
There are of course two large – pun intended – questions. That was expected to switch last season – and it did – with the retirement of Marshawn Lynch, but some of that was due to ineffectiveness instead of a philosophical switch to more passing. The Packers were one of the three, with Seattle and Minnesota being the others.
“He’s a big back, he’s a big guy, nothing wrong with that”, Carroll said.
Most assume that going to play behind the Seahawks offensive line is a downgrade from anyone else’s, but that’s not quite true in Lacy’s case.
In 2016, Lacy was listed at 234 pounds but looked closer to the aforementioned hefty number above in uniform. Ten pounds heavier is just fine with the Seahawks. This is a hard time for him because he’s working some rehab, but he’s well aware of what our expectations are and the standards we’re setting. Prosise – three if you want to count Alex Collins – who will give Lacy support in the backfield. Or will his weight and conditioning be an issue? It simply isn’t that easy.
