How Defunding Planned Parenthood Would Put More Women In Poverty

Planned Parenthood has always been under attack by the GOP, and the plan to yank federal funding from their clinics across the U.S.is a cherished part of Trump’s healthcare bill. “Thus, it should not be included in the Senate budget reconciliation bill”.

If it succeeds, the impact would be particularly strong in California, a state where legislators over the years have interpreted federal laws and rules in ways that have allowed more federal dollars to flow to Planned Parenthood clinics. Overall, that would lead to an estimated $77 million in additional Medicaid spending over the next decade.
