Galaxy S8 launch date pushed back to April 28

Now at least, starting with the Galaxy S7, unlocked US Samsung flagships should get monthly security updates like all the other versions. Brand name is one of the few things separating Samsung from the rest of the Android pack, so a full year without a barnstorming device launch would be bad news long-term. At the time, Samsung said it would launch a new program to push out Android security updates once a month so that it would be able to combat these issues faster. Al in all, both the iPhone 8 and the Samsung Galaxy S8 faces a crucial year as the competition tightens with the surge of rival brands like Huawei.

The Galaxy S8 is expected to come with a 5.8-inch QHD display while its bigger sibling is set to boast a 6.2-inch QHD display.

The leaked images of Galaxy S8’s UI are not of crisp clear, but we can still figure out the changes.

The company already launched the 6GB RAM smartphone, Galaxy C9 Pro in China and India. With the front button gone, the fingerprint scanner would most likely move to the rear side below the camera sensor. The feature is similar to Windows Continuum. That statement was since then taken down but now we find out that Samsung is actually planning on bringing Google’s Android 7.0 to multiple device lineups including the Galaxy A and Galaxy J series.

Rumors have it that seven colors consisting of gold, silver, bright black, matte black, blue, orchid and pink will be available, apart from the usual rose gold, the pink color will be something to watch out for.

The company will maintain the IP68 rating for water and dust resistance. Since there is no physical home button, the company will be using on-screen navigation buttons instead of the capacitive buttons. However, after trying out the feature with supplier Synaptics, Samsung found that the process was slow and the results “frustrating”, according to a report from The Investor that was earlier reported on by Sammobile.
