Gmail On Android Now Lets You Send Money
Those on the receiving end won’t even need a Gmail account or have the app installed; the transaction follows through just as well, and the money can even be transferred directly to the recipient’s bank account.
Sending money via the Gmail app now operates the same way as sending an attachment. Google has had the Wallet integrated with Gmail for a while; but did not introduce the feature until now.
“You can already reliably and safely share photos and files on the go with Gmail”. When you click the attachment to see a preview of it, you get redirected to a Google sign-in page where you enter your credentials.
After the money is sent all the recipient has to do is tap Claim Money in the email. Starting today, users of the Gmail Android app can share money too, with almost the same ease.
You can now send and receive money through Gmail on Android. It is unclear whether people would transact using all these apps at once with the limited cash an average person has. Transferring money from one person to the other takes place within the Gmail app or in Gmail on the web. The service is now allowing users of the Gmail application on the mentioned operating system to send and receive money.
After the transfer, you and recipient will get an email with all the transfer details. Hackers frequently trick people by sending emails from false addresses or using Photoshopped images that look like real browsers. You can send money to any email address as mentioned before.
Add a memo for what the payment is for, such as coffee, pizza or rent. It seems that Google is trying to compete with all of these companies that are now setting foot into the mobile payments world, even if payments or finances are not the first function or feature of the app.
However, integrating Wallet features directly with Gmail makes Google’s task easier: to hasten payment services using an interface which is familiar to many users. On Android alone, the Gmail app has been downloaded over 1 billion times, and this is the segment being targeted by the new feature for Gmail on Android.
