Ryan: Leaked audio bashing Trump ‘ancient history’
House of Representatives Speaker Paul Ryan said on Thursday that President Donald Trump is playing a constructive role in new health care legislation and helping bridge differences among congressional Republicans.”This president is getting deeply involved”, Ryan said at a news briefing. But a review of Breitbart’s reporting on the bill indicates that there is one sacred cow: the site’s support for Trump.
Breitbart reported the call was intended for just House Republicans, but it was unclear how many took part in the call. But what really overshadows the tape is the following passage, high in an article by Breitbart Washington editor Matt Boyle. The story that accompanies the audio then accuses Ryan of misleading the president about the health care bill in two ways: by saying it repeals ObamaCare “when it does not”, and by leading him to believe it would easily pass Congress. As a GOP lobbyist told Axios Tuesday morning, this is Trump’s effort to throw “Ryan under the bus” and have the House come up with a new bill that will be better received.
Ryan got little support on Twitter, where Trump loyalists demanded he step down. I speak with the president pretty much every single day. The GOP’s law known as the American Health Care Act is up against some hefty opposition among Republicans and Democrats.
Ruddy, the chief executive of Newsmax Media, published a column Tuesday urging Trump to “ditch” the current bill. Also, Ryan is a loser.
“When a president submits a budget, that is the beginning of the budget process”, the Wisconsin Republican and former House Budget Committee chairman told reporters at a Capitol Hill news conference.
But Ryan failed to see that as a strike against the plan, insisting that the bill still provides access to affordable health care for many.
In particular, Bannon was said to be upset with a report on the website that attacked Reince Priebus, Mr. Trump’s chief of staff. The game plan is pretty simple: When something goes wrong, shield Trump and point the finger at the party establishment.
Although Breitbart has run its share of unflattering Ryan coverage. He wants Breitbart to play along, according to Business Insider.
“Trump figures things out pretty quickly, and I think he’s figuring out this situation, how the House Republicans did him a disservice”, said Christopher Ruddy, a longtime Trump friend.
