U2 Fans Booed The Woman Who Helped Bono After His Cycling Accident
“Earlier, when I busted myself up here in the city, we had a gig in Times Square for Red and this man showed up and delivered”, Bono said.
She was promptly booed off stage by the audience before she could finish her story.
NEW YORK, August 2 – U2 brought out a surprise guest at their Madison Square Garden concert: Bruce Springsteen.
The band performed Reed’s song Satellite of Love to the back drop of a video showing a recording of Reed performing the song. The quartet sprinkled a little magic at the end with the closer “40”, as each member made its way off the stage.
The With or Without You hitmaker then passed the microphone to the woman in question, and it seems she was far from impressed with her introduction.
“So I’ve to make clear, it’s Alyssa and I’m from D.C., not Denver”, the lady stated.
It earned her laughs. However her shine ended shortly after. Here’s what happened: “I was running in Central Park, there was an accident, obviously I had to stop and help because I’m not from New York, I’m from Virginia, where people are nice”.
Bono, fifty five, accomplished surgical procedure after struggling fractures to his left eye socket, shoulder blade and left elbow following his fall. Eventually, just as on that fateful day when Bono crashed his bike, a member of Engine 44 came to the rescue, yanking the mic out of the woman’s hand.
The Boss joined the Irish rockers at Madison Square Garden for encore renditions of “I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For” and the Ben E. King classic “Stand By Me” during the band’s Friday, July 31 show, according to the Associated Press.
The ban will tour Europe in September.
