UB grad school programs again ranked among nation’s best by US News

In these two ratings, UCSF’s medical school ranks as the top public institution for research training and the only medical school in the nation, public or private, ranked in the top five in both categories.
The UCLA Anderson School of Management, UCLA School of Law and UCLA School of Nursing tied for No. 15 among business schools, law schools and nursing schools, respectively.
The UW School of Law moved up three places from last year’s ranking of 33rd. Specialty rankings were based exclusively on nominations by legal educators at peer institutions.
A year after UNC’s pharmacy school hit No. 1 for programs of its type, the magazine on Tuesday gave Duke’s School of Nursing its place in the sun, awarding it twin No. 1s for its master’s and doctoral offerings.
U.S. News ranks some programs annually and others on varying year-to-year cycles.
The overall ranking reflects the College of Law’s strong employment and student selectivity numbers.
Eller’s full-time MBA program jumped from No. 60 to No. 49 overall, and ranked No. 24 among public programs, the UA said.
“We are thrilled that U.S. News continues to rank us among the nation’s top law schools and that we are improving in these rankings”, FSU College of Law Dean Erin O’Connor said. Ranked specialties include archives and preservation (10th) and services for youth and children (7th).
San Diego State University’s College of Education graduate program ranks No. 57 in the nation among all universities and No. 39 among public universities in publication’s guidebook on best graduate schools for 2018. That represents the biggest annual increase in the program’s history and is 26 spots higher than the Global MBA’s rank in the 2014 edition. “Our programs are created to prepare graduates to lead and transform today’s complex healthcare environments”.
The nursing school was also recognized in several specialty areas this year: Nurse Practitioner-Pediatric, Primary Care (second); Informatics, and Doctor of Nursing Practice-Nurse Anesthesia (third); Nurse Practitioner-Family (tied for fourth); Nurse Practitioner-Adult Gerontology, Acute Care (fifth).

Notably, the number of worldwide students enrolled in graduate programs increased by almost 75 percent from fall 2006 to fall 2016, with an especially sharp rise in the past three years, Holsinger said. “The caliber of those students is the best testament to that hard work”.
