According to the 62-page document, the departments that would see the largest increases in their spending capabilities are the Department of Justice and the Department of Homeland Security in relation to their budget for immigration enforcement. The White House budget released Thursday hacks the Environmental Protection Agency’s budget by 31 percent, and budgets for climate change programs across the State Department, NOAA, NASA, and the Interior Department are also slashed.
Trump also proposes completely eliminating federal funding for the Corporation for Public Broadcasting and National Public Radio, as well as the National Endowment for the Humanities.
President Trump wants $1.5 billion for the border wall between the USA and Mexico in the current fiscal year, in addition to $2.6 billion in fiscal 2018.
Trump’s budget doesn’t fully bring that accounting, as it continues the mega deficits and promises tax cuts to boot.
And while Trump may have touted his plan to invest over $1 trillion into infrastructure improvements, the DOT will see 13 percent of their budget slashed.
Senator Marco Rubio of the Republican Party said he does not support the proposed 28 per cent cut to global affairs budget and diplomatic efforts led by the State Department.

Some budget items appear to be at odds with Trump’s rhetoric.
In fact, the two Congressional representatives who serve Saratoga County, Democrat Paul Tonko and Republican Elise Stefanik, while differing in tone, both issued statements against the proposal and its cuts to individual programs.

Advocates for rural residents said the president’s spending blueprint adversely impacts a range of programs helpful to less populated regions, including those to prevent homelessness, help the poor pay heating bills, provide community loans, fund training for nurses, assist farmers and preserve clean waterways.
