Xiaomi maintains affordable approach, launches octa-core Redmi Note 4 at RM799
Meanwhile, the company also launched its latest smartphone at an affordable price – Redmi 4A – priced at ₹5,999, which will be available through mi.com and Amazon from Thursday. At the launch event tody, the company is believed to take the wraps off the Redmi 4 series phones in India.
The phone also comes with microSD card slot to expand the storage, but do make a note that it’s a hybrid slot and you can either use your secondary SIM card or memory card.
The device sports a similar metal unibody design as the 3s Prime, however, Redmi 4A has gotten slightly lighter, coming at 131g, as compared to 144g on the 3s Prime. The phone is powered by a quad-core Snapdragon 425 with 2GB RAM and you get an internal storage of 16GB as well.
Xiaomi and Amazon India, first partnered in year 2015 for the launch of Redmi devices, followed by Amazon exclusive launch of Redmi Note Prime in December 2015. Whereas Redmi 4 would have a slightly better spec sheet in terms of the RAM and the processor as it comes with a Snapdragon 625 and a 3GB RAM. A 13-megapixel snapper (f/2.2 aperture, PDAF) can be found on the back of this phone, and a 5-megapixel shooter (f/2.2 aperture) is available on its front side.

The Redmi Note 4 offers a lot for its price. It is running on Android 6.0 Marshmallow based MIUI 8.0, however, the Nougat update maybe right around the corner. There is an IR blaster to control electronic items in your home. As for color options, buyers will be able to choose from dark grey, gold and rose gold options.
On the connectivity front, this phone has 4G VoLTE, supports Bluetooth 4.1, WiFi 802.11 b / g / n 2.4G WiFi as well.
