Researchers warn of bogus Windows emails

Windows 10 works similarly, though you can now manage more of this functionality from a single interface.

Mozilla Firefox thinks Microsoft is being a Web bully again.

The larger increases were expected: Windows 10’s pool of potential upgraders was massive compared to Windows 8.1’s, because Windows 7, the dominant operating system both worldwide and in the U.S., was included.

Gizmodo reminded users that official Windows 10 updates happen through your desktop, not through email. It’s an opt-in service that most people unwilling adhere to during installation but there is a way around it. Having used the pre-release version of Windows 10, I knew what to expect. All the software packages I had with Windows 8 still worked, without incompatibilities.

The Edge browser (which is still feature limited at launch) is Microsoft’s attempt to claw back momentum from Chrome. Perhaps the most notable of these is Task View, which presents a visual summary up all open apps.

In previous versions of Windows, opening up a non-default application would prompt a dialogue box giving users the option to make it the new default. Instead of launching Windows 10 to anyone who would want to try it, Microsoft chose a wiser phased approach: the first to get their hands on it are PC vendors and users who were interested in testing the beta versions of the operating system. Continuum offers an intelligent approach to devices that is much welcomed.

According to Microsoft’s figures, millions of users made the jump to Windows 10 in its first 24 hours of general availability. Performance with Edge has been encouraging, although the lack of extensions is a disappointment.

While going at lengths to appear professional, the mail does have certain indicators such as missing letters or characters which can quickly point towards its real nature.

Microsoft has also made Windows available free to makers of small-screen gadgets such as smartphones or tablets to gain traction in the mobile market.

It was a massive day for Microsoft with its new release of Windows 10, but they never expected to run into huge problems from the get go. (NASDAQ:AAPL)’s Notification Center from OS X.

The attackers, using an IP address assigned to Thailand, are distributing carefully crafted emails to users, inviting them to install Microsoft’s Windows 10 OS.
