Google unveils Android O with developer preview
The Google Nexus 7 (2017) will have a hybrid operating system, the Andromeda OS, which is a combination of the Chromebook OS and Android.
Once updated, users will be able to bring up the personal helper by long-pressing on their phone’s home button or by saying “OK Google” to their device. But do note that the process will erase all the data from your smartphone. In total, Google said 0.71 percent of all Android devices had a potentially harmful app (PHA) installed at the end of 2016. Take into account that perhaps it’s even too early to be happy about this development, since the Android O is barely in the first stages of production, and the company may still change important things in its structure until the final version.
The O Developer Preview includes an updated SDK with system images for testing on the official Android Emulator and on Nexus and Pixel devices (Nexus 5X, Nexus 6P, Nexus Player, Pixel, Pixel XL and Pixel C) devices.
Google has already stated that Android O will support the latest version of Java (8) as well as new wireless technologies like Sony’s LDAC codec for Hi-Res audio. This will let users specify common settings for common apps and notifications without having to tweak them individually.
For a start, you can now “snooze” any notifications that hit your phone, if you want to clear the clutter while being reminded about something when the time is right. Also, the update adds the much-needed fingerprint gestures to the phone, i.e., you can simply swipe down on the fingerprint scanner to pull down the notification bar.
Notification Handling: As for notification handling, the new software has come with some advancement.
Yet few Android devices can boast of impressive patch rates. Android Nougat offers a number of really handy features, but none so handy as split screen mode. Android’s update problem isn’t new; people have known about it nearly since the platform started to become popular. This of course may be a glitchy experience as it’s an incomplete version of Android’s latest mobile OS.
