Google Officially Announces Android O
The feature will put them under separate headings for news, sports, music, entertainment, social, etc., and offer individual controls on each category. Google said that the OS also animates interactions with the icons, which can be used in Settings, shortcuts, as well as on the overview screen.
Google released a developer preview for its new operating system Android O well ahead of its release.
The upcoming version of Android, codenamed Android O seems to be focussing on battery life and notifications along with audio.
Notification channels: Developer controlled notification channels that are specified for one app. Users can change the behavior or block content.

For example, if you are using Instagram but have Google Maps open in the background, location services will update the location less frequently for Maps to keep it from draining your battery as fast.

Another visible change in Android O is more control on the Notifications which pops up in the notification panel.
Google is introducing a new way for managing notifications with Android O. All notifications will essentially be grouped under what the company is calling Notification Channels.
Users can now snooze notifications so they reappear at a later time.
Google’s Android O also brings in few enhancements on the keyboard navigation front and WebView in apps. Videos and pictures will also get sharper and crisper.
What’s New in Android O? Once you see the notification, you will be able to slide your finger over it to make it reappear after 15, 30, or 60 minutes. This may coincide with Google I/O, which takes place May 17-19. “Android O” is still in its early stages, but it is distinct from its predecessor in several ways that could change the way you interact with your Android. For the time being it’s the only wallpaper for the developer preview of Android O, but more will be coming in the near future.
