Rumor: Samsung To Launch A 5.3-Inch Galaxy S8 Mini Soon
In the U.S. it’s possible to buy a Samsung Galaxy S8 or S8+ which is a Microsoft Edition meaning you pick it up from a Microsoft Store on 21 April.
The latest evidence of that relationship was announced by Microsoft on Thursday, where it stated that “Microsoft Edition” Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus varieties will be sold directly on its USA retail stores. No it isn’t running on Windows 10. What is included in this bundle however, is the bunch of productivity software from Microsoft. “As the user continues to utilize the feature more and more, the phone gets better at recognizing them, despite small changes in the angle or position of their face during the verification process”, Samsung said, to convince users how secure this facial recognition would be.
Samsung has recently unveiled its highly anticipated flagship smartphones, dubbed as Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus.
What’s also new is Samsung has introduced its own virtual assistant with the S8. However, HP sells the Elite x3 and Desk Dock as a bundle for 9, while the Galaxy S8 handsets – priced from $749 – and DeX Station will be sold separately. Both sport so-called Infinity Displays, which favor a almost bezel-less experience unlike any other phones. The displays sport a resolution of 2961×1440 pixels, along with the 18:9 aspect ratio. This promotion is only available for Galaxy S8 and S8+ pre-orders placed by April 12.
While the S7 was powered by a 64-bit octa-core processor based on the 14nm tech, the new S8 uses a thinner 64-bit octa-core processor based on the 10nm tech – making it technologically advanced. This variant is also expected to hit the Indian markets. According to Forbes, both handsets offer 4GB of RAM and a 3,000 mAh battery. The S8 will have an internal memory of 64GB with microSD support upto 256GB. While the S7’s battery longevity came down 20% in a year, Samsung claims that the S8’s battery will lose only about 5% power.
Pricing for the popular devices, which have won universal praise from leading technology media, starts at $29.16 per month and $33.33 per month for 24 months on C Spire’s Device Payment Plan.
