Samsung Galaxy S8 Series Revealed

In the Samsung calendar, the folding phone would land well after the launch of the Galaxy S8 (from April 21) but before the Galaxy Note 8 (expected this fall).

Samsung has a lot of devices in the smartphone market and it can be tough knowing which is which, at least from their looks and names.

The main attraction of the Samsung Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus is the wider and bigger screen. Coupled with the Mobile HDR Premium certification, it reportedly outperforms the S7’s screen by nearly every measure, but especially when used in high ambient light conditions or for watching 4K UHD content.

The S8 is great to just cradle in the hand, too – its thin, metal-and-glass body simply screams premium. The device is fueled by a Qualcomm MSM8996 Snapdragon 820 processor and has a GPU of Adreno 530.

Moving towards the imaging duties, the new Samsung Galaxy Tab S3 has 13 MP of rear camera with LED flash as well as f/1.9 aperture. In fact, Samsung had to give a refund to all those who had pre-booked the smartphone last time around. In the end, the smartphone has a battery worth 3,300 mAh power, which is capable of giving 23 hours if talk time and 96 hours of play time. Connectivity option in the handset include Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth, USB OTG, 3G and 4G and sensors include a Proximity sensor, Accelerometer, and Ambient light sensor. No details about the launch date, price, and availability of the smartphone revealed as of now. It comes in 4 color variants-rose gold, white, black, and gold. One sticker contained the code SM-G955F which is the model number used for the Galaxy S8 Plus. But do you really wanna go through all of that hassle just to get a feature that should come standard on 2017 smartphones? And given the fact that it’s still a few weeks until the phone hits stores, Samsung could potentially upgrade the phone’s software to fix the fault by then.

The S8 has no real innovation factor save for Bixby, Samsung’s virtual assistant – and even that’s not new in a world where users have already made the acquaintance of Google’s Assistant and Apple’s Siri. But users will receive the update a little late.
