4 Celebrity Hobbies That Might Surprise You
There’s no denying that being a regular member of the public is a little different from being a part of the A-list celebrity Hollywood scene. From movie stars to musicians, each and every celebrity seems to be jet-setting around the world, performing in front of thousands of adoring fans, so it is a little difficult to imagine them indulging in online games or knitting. Still, as celebrities have started sharing more with us through social media and interviews, it seems that they too have normal hobbies just like us.
Don’t believe us? Well, here are four celebrity hobbies that will probably surprise you – mostly because they’re just so normal.
Mick Jagger Loves Bingo
Over the last few weeks, Harry Styles of One Direction has been in the news having stated that he wishes to become a solo artist in an attempt to emulate Mick Jagger. We wonder then, if Harry Styles will also be heading over to one of the world’s growing number of bingo sites – since he’s newly single, it may be to Sun Bingo’s Hearts online bingo room – and hosting massive bingo parties any time soon.
That’s right: legendary singer songwriter of Rolling Stones fame is one of the many celebrities that love iGaming. Unlike his fellow celebrities Ben Affleck and Matt Damon, who often play poker as a hobby, Jagger prefers bingo. He is renowned throughout the celebrity world for hosting huge bingo parties at his million-dollar home. Russell Crowe, Catherine Zeta Jones and British singer Robbie Williams are just some of the other celebrities that have revealed their love for bingo.
Nicolas Cage Collects Superman Comics
Whether he means to be or not, Nicolas Cage continues to be one of the funniest celebrities to ever grace the internet with his hilarious actions. That isn’t to say he hasn’t risen to fame off his own back, though, as there’s no denying he can be a talented actor (as long as no bees are around, at least). So, it might surprise some of you to learn that Cage is absolutely obsessed with Superman.
The National Treasure actor has an immense collection of comic books, movies and merchandise that fill his mansion. Cage is so obsessed that he even named his son Kal-El, which fellow fans will know is the real name of Superman/Clark Kent. As you may know, Cage’s dreams finally came true in the 1990s when he was cast as Superman in a Tim Burton rendition of the superhero franchise. However, the film never came to fruition and poor Cage never got to be the Man of Steel he loves so much.
Mila Kunis Plays World of Warcraft
Ukrainian-born starlet Mila Kunis first rose to fame just before her fifteenth birthday when she landed the role of Jackie Burkhart in the hit television series That 70s Show. Since then, she has continued her role as Meg Griffin in Family Guy, and starred in a number of blockbusters including Forgetting Sarah Marshall, Black Swan and Friends With Benefits.
How could would one wind down from achieving all this success? By playing World of Warcraft, of course! In an interview with Jimmy Kimmel, Kunis revealed that she is really into video games and has spent an enormous amount of hours throughout her life playing WoW. She even confessed that her obsession was so consuming that she had to stop playing entirely for a while to make sure she managed to get other stuff done.
David Arquette is an Avid Knitter
Over the last few years, knitting appears to have become increasingly popular as hashtags like Knitflixing and Knitflixandchill have appeared all over social media. Sure, young adult women indulging in a little crafty knitting whilst watching their favourite shows isn’t too surprising, but imagining a member of a celebrity family as big as the Arquettes is a little different – especially one that has previously attempted to become a pro wrestler.
Not only has David Arquette appeared in a number of films and TV shows, before then competing in the World Championship Wrestling, he is also an avid knitter. He was taught how to knit by his grandmother early on in his life and has carried on the hobby ever since. Arquette isn’t secretive about his unusual pastime either, and even appeared on the cover of Celebrity Scarves 2: Hollywood Knits for Breast Cancer Research.
