Dez Bryant takes swing at Dallas Cowboys team-mate during training camp
And he proved it Sunday during a Cowboys training-camp practice in which he aimed a punch at teammate Tyler Patmon on the field … and then four minutes later, on the sideline, attempted to take some more swings.
We’ve seen Bryant in training camp altercations before, and it looks like 2015’s first comes with Tyler Patmon defending him.
It’s a rare training camp that doesn’t have at least a couple of scuffles, so this isn’t a big deal in the scheme of things.
Bryant is also an Oklahoma State alumnus, but the two were never team-mates in college.
Tony Romo and Jason Garrett spoke with Bryant afterwards and the fiery receiver hugged it out with Patmon soon after. “At the end of the day, we shook hands, we hugged and we respect one another”. “Brothers fight. That happens sometimes”.
It is not clear what exactly started the fight, which was extremely brief after team-mates pulled Bryant away.
“You don’t want somebody weak on your team”, Bryant said. “We go at it. After that we squash it and it’s over”.
Patmon is an undrafted second-year player still fighting for a roster spot a year after making the team with a strong camp and preseason. “I’ll go to war with a guy like that any day of the week”.
