Browns plan to pick DE Garrett No. 1 overall
Regarding Garrett: “A wire-to-wire victory for the cornerstone of the Gregg Williams defense”.
Mixon will be drafted, and it could even happen in the first round Thursday night. When it comes to the New York Jets, unfortunately, for years now they’ve been struggling offensively to the point where they’re not consistent when it comes to scoring touchdowns. A third receiver, John Ross of Washington, was taken by Cincinnati, which desperately needs a complement to A.J. Green.
The NFL trade market is never more active than it is during and leading up to the draft, and the 2017 NFL draft has been no exception.
Fournette should boost one of the league’s worst offenses and take some pressure off struggling quarterback Blake Bortles. Most college athletes looking to go at the top of the round are defensive backs, linemen, linebackers and safeties.
Everything I hear suggests the Browns like Trubisky the best among the QBs. They took Arik Armstead in 2015 and DeForest Buckner a year ago. Is that pick going to be Myles Garrett or North Carolina quarterback Mitchell Trubisky?
Make no mistake that the Browns need a QB after seeing the likes of first-round busts such Johnny Manziel, Brandon Weeden, Robert Griffin III and journeyman quarterback Brian Hoyer pass through the so-called Factory of Sadness.
At six-foot-four, 272 pounds, Garrett had a 4.64 40-yard dash and a 41-inch vertical jump. Garrett is the ninth defensive end to go No. 1 overall in the draft’s history.
Coming off a 1-15 season, the Browns need help everywhere.
Perhaps no player raced up more draft boards in the lead-up to Thursday night than Ohio State cornerback Gareon Conley, a player once considered as the other guy when watching Marshon Lattimore tape.
Jackson, though, has explained the Browns are comfortable with Garrett and attributed the perceived effort issues to him playing hurt last season.
Brugler also believes that the Browns will go with Garrett. The NFL’s Draft is beginning on April 27th at 8pm EST live from Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. An NFL executive told Jeremiah that the Browns take up impact players at picks No. 1 and 12 and trade trade back into the bottom of the first round for Webb.
Most analysts have predicted that the Cleveland Browns will select Texas A&M edge defender Myles Garrett with the top selection in the draft.
Cleveland will be followed by San Francisco, Chicago and Jacksonville.
