Lollapalooza 2015 thrills Chicago with Tove Lo, Paul McCartney and more

Live from the Downtown Chicago’s historic Grant Park, the festival will stream daily from 3-11pm ET (12-8pm PT) with encore performances airing overnight. Alabama Shakes, alt-J, and Cold War Kinds also performed, along with more than 40 others. Check out the gallery below to see some of the day’s highlights.

According to Mic, tickets for Lollapalooza this weekend sold out within less than an hour, leaving a lot of disappointed music lovers. She performed her hits “Habits” and “Talking Body”. But last night was extra special because he headlined a big one in his hometown of Chicago: Lollapalooza. He paused a few times to comment on the imposing EDM f***ery that was bleeding from the Kaskade set over at Perry’s stage.

Now, McCartney has delivered a solo rendition of the song.

The show ended with the trio performing “Let It Be,”Live and Let Die” that was enhanced with fireworks and pyrotechnics, and finally “Hey Jude”, when crowed joined a massive echo of sing-along”. The former Beatle appealed to a crowd of all ages, from opening his set with “Magical Mystery Tour” to playing a duet with Alabama Shake’s Brittany Howard.
