Baahubali 2 Breaches $12 Million Mark
While the first part of the franchise was a trailblazer, the second one is path-breaking too.
Baahubali 2 movie starring Prabhas, Anushka Shetty, Rana, Ramya Krishna, Sathya Raj, Tamanna in key roles. It is heard that the Japanese and Chinese dubbed versions of the film will be released later this summer. It has gone past the Rs 190 crore mark in a jiffy and now stands at Rs 195 crore*. Co-producer Karan Johar tweeted: “Historic Weekend!” Kudos to you, and kudos to Baahubali 2 team. It has already broken countless records set by many Bollywood biggies like Dangal, PK, Sultan, Bajrangi Bhaijaan and Dhoom 3. After waiting for two years, the magnum opus finally hit the big screens last week and since then has been scoring humungous at the ticket windows.
Down south, the response has been tremendous.
Rana Daggubati as Bhalla Dev took home Rs 15 crore, as per the report. It became the first ever Indian movie to collect Rs.743 crores gross collections all over the world. There is no other film that has witnessed this kind of buzz and hype.
Trinath, another trade analyst, said there’s no stopping the film at the box office.
The film has now managed to collect 785 crores worldwide, thus beating Aamir Khan’s Dangal’s collections which stood at 744 crores. A Khan film releases on about 4,500 screens. The possibility of the film making Rs 1,000 crore has been floated by experts.
With all these huge amounts raking in, the total Baahubali 2 collections in four days comes to Rs 625 crore gross worldwide.
The historical drama is clearly a game -changer not only with respect to the BO numbers, but also the quality of the film. As he says, “We very quickly realised that it’s a pan Indian film – it doesn’t belong to one particular region”.
Baahubali 2 has reportedly minted Rs. 5.75 crore on its fourth day of its theatrical release to emerge as the top non-Malayalam grosser in Kerala.
Prabhas has earned around Rs 25 crore for doing the movie.
