Albany florist feels impact of record-high Mother’s Day spending

We would be nowhere without our moms. Why the GWB Patio? We all need them.

We enjoy sitting out on our patio on sunny summer days.

None of us would be here without our Mums and for those of you in position to do so, please take a moment to show your mothers some love. And then we, along with my wife, planted them on Mother’s Day. If you have a mom, are married to someone who is a mom, if you suspect someone you work with might be mom and especially if you are with someone who is about to become a mom buy her a gift!

The first Mother’s Day service was held one morning in 1908 at St. Andrew’s Methodist Church in Grafton. Nearly everything I know I learnt from my mother. We’re not all there and participating every year.

It’s been 24 years now, but I still miss her. So to all of you who are mothers, or are about to be, KPLC Salutes you and wishes you a happy Mother’s Day! One day in the ’60s when I was demonstrating against the Vietnam War in front of the Milwaukee draft board, a cop yelled out, “Is there a Marc Gellman here?” She has always been there, through my ups and downs, and has stood up for me when no one else does. I know quite a few people who never had kids of their own and still managed to be a “mom” to all kinds of kids around Clare.

Nothing is really lost until your mom can’t find it. It seems pink and red are for living mothers and white one are for mothers who have passed away.

Whether or not her determination was fueled by guilt or regret, for the next seven years, Anna worked to establish an organized Mother’s Day dedicated to “make new resolutions for a more active thought to our dear mothers”. The video, which is titled “Worth It: Thank You Mom”, depicts several mothers and their relationships not only with their families but with their bikes. Anyone out there who knew Myrtle, knows that this was no different than any other day.

After all, it’s mom’s day, not yours.

Mothers carry the unfair burden of domestic work and family care, there’s a good chance you’ll be “restructured” out of the workforce when you announce your pregnancy, you’ll find it hard, if not impossible, to get back into the workforce, but if you do, then you’re on your own with arranging and paying for childcare.
