Get ready for new Apple laptops next month

According to sources, Apple’s entire MacBook line-up is scheduled for a refresh with the big phone Company giving the MacBook Pro a new, faster Intel Kaby Lake chipset. Apple really wants you to think of the 13-inch MacBook Pro as the Air’s successor.

So far, Apple has not always made it a point to introduce new hardware at its developer conference, WWDC, which happens on an annual basis. This move is being seen as a necessary step to see of new competition from Microsoft and declining iPad sales. Apple has been phasing it out to give way to the MacBook and the MacBook Pro, but it remains popular among consumers due to being less expensive. The third Apple laptop is rumored to be a new version of the MacBook Air which has been previously rumored to be on its deathbed.

Additionally, as we reported earlier, Apple is also expected to unveil its own Amazon Echo/Alexa competitor in the form of a Siri-powered Beats speaker.

According to Bloomberg, The MacBook Pro will get a faster, Kaby Lake processor. An Apple spokesperson did not immediately respond to a request for comment on the rumors. Apple’s bread and butter continues to be its iPhone line, though it still rakes in billions of dollars from its Mac products. Even the 13-inch MacBook Air will probably be at the receiving end of a new processor.

The MacBook Pro was said to remain as is, for the most part, except for the said major changes in its internal workings.

Aside from these, Apple could also make use of the event to launch a fresh Siri speaker, as well as, the long-awaited 10.5-inch iPad Pro featuring slim bezels for almost edge-to-edge design. Apple has been gradually phasing the Air out since the introduction of the 2015 MacBook which is both thinner and lighter. Some Apple fans think the company doesn’t pay enough attention to its laptop lineup since it isn’t a huge moneymaker.

As for whether Apple can rekindle the flame it held with much of the creative community for so long, we’d say that depends upon what upgrades come to said refreshed products.
