Watch the Destiny 2 gameplay premiere livestream event here at 6pm
Until then, check out the exciting gameplay reveal trailer below. In a move that surprised avid gaming fans, the company announced that it will deploy a PC version of the said game that will only be available to Blizzard’s online app.
Once we see how Destiny 2 is implemented into the Battle.net interface we’ll know more. It would appear that Bungie and Activision have partnered up with Blizzard to make Destiny 2 available exclusively through the Battlenet store and launcher. This will be the first game developed by a separate studio to arrive for Battle.net, which has only offered Blizzard-developed games until now. Not according to Blizzard.
Not only do we get to see a slice of the attractive environments in Destiny 2 where everything looks like it has a fresh coat of paint, we learn that the last safe city on Earth is falling to war. Bungie is changing the game all around, adding more for its campaign, transforming PvP, and making strikes more accessible. However, Bungie will continue to maintain its own game servers, its own customer service etc.
That’s a nice sentiment, but it turns out that players who want Destiny 2 “as soon as possible” will probably have to resign themselves to the console versions. Will you be purchasing Destiny 2 on PC, or are you sticking with consoles?
Choose your platform carefully. A story teaser confirmed that the game’s story will take place following a Cabal attack on the Citadel, and even provided us with the name of the leader of the Cabal: Ghaul. The game publisher also disclosed the video game’s release date.
Destiny 2 will release on Playstation 4 and Xbox One on September 8.
Bungie had a lot to show for Destiny 2 during their recent livestream event, where they showcased plenty of footage as well as new info on the game’s activities, multiplayer, and PC version. Will the PC beta roll out at the same time as the console beta, for example, or will we be waiting longer for that too?
