Comey Less Popular Than Trump in New Poll

President Trump can not expect Americans to believe that Mr. Comey’s mishandling of the investigation into Hillary Clinton’s emails, the reason given, was behind this action.

Firing Mr. Comey over his investigation of Mrs. Clinton’s emails – something candidate Trump praised effusively – isn’t the only problem. Officials said such memos could be made available to both the special counsel now overseeing the Russian Federation investigation and congressional investigators.

Meanwhile, Speaker Paul Ryan (R-Wis.), in a move that further endangers House Republicans, has aligned them in lockstep with Trump, a fatal attraction that could lead the GOP to political devastation in the 2018 midterms. Independent analysts said they didn’t believe Comey can be stopped if he remains intent on telling his story. The question only investigators can now answer: Just how late is it? No longer does talk about consideration of impeachment seem premature.
