No surprise: It’s Cavs-Warriors in the NBA Finals
MARTIN: Last night, the Cavaliers beat the Boston Celtics and will go on to face the Golden State Warriors in the National Basketball Association finals. The first “threematch” – rematch of a rematch – in league history.
The Warriors’ regular season was more understated than many expected, but it was nonetheless dominant.
The Cleveland Cavaliers and Golden State Warriors meet Thursday in game one of the 2017 NBA Finals at the Oracle Arena on ABC. It will be the third consecutive Finals to feature these two teams with the first two series being split. “With that being said, tonight I’ll start my prepping, and we’ll see what happens”. “But we’re going to enjoy this for a couple more days before we have to lock in on that juggernaut out west”. The Golden State Warriors are actually chasing history in this series, as no team has ever gone undefeated in the current playoff format.
Kevin Durant and Steph Curry pose with the Western Conference championship trophy after Golden State eliminated San Antonio. Thomas played with a heavy heart, and played incredibly well, throughout Boston’s run to the Eastern Conference Finals. I didn’t go bald like Mike, but I’m getting there. So you have to appreciate it.
Already, the back-and-forth is underway.
Nearly immediately in the first round, both teams made it clear they have no equal in their respective conferences.
For the Warriors, some will conclude they have gotten lucky with injuries. One more team. I couldn’t have made the East better. We made a lot of mistakes you don’t make at this stage and they capitalized. “And every night you get challenged…”
James, who was joined on the podium by team-mates, pointed out that it was a special moment for Deron Williams and Kyle Korver, two veterans heading to the Finals for the first time in their careers. Howe set a record with 12 points in the round and Lindsay scored four goals in a Game 2 win. He will have to wait for more tests until the swelling goes down, he said. Now they will face off once again. The Golden State Warriors are shooting 38.9 percent from beyond the arc and 81.3 percent from the free throw line. The Warriors haven’t lost a game since April 10.
“It’s a little different, definitely”.
Lue said that tape of last season’s Finals is applicable now, even though Durant wasn’t on the court.
“It’s carried me to this point now and it’s going to carry me for the rest of my career because scoring is not number one on my agenda”. They’ve been super-impressive. It’s kind of in our minds that that’s who we were going to see. Can James win his fourth ring? Now he’s four wins away from winning his first National Basketball Association championship. Will the Warriors be haunted by letting last season’s 3-1 lead slip away?
Bradley scored 23 points on Thursday night, but for the third time in as many home games the Boston Celtics were trounced by LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Like I said, I did pretty much everything that MJ did when I was a kid.
