Tributes pour in for Cilla Black
Cilla is survived by three sons, one of whom, Robert, succeeded his father as her manager.
Her close pal, fellow Merseyside entertainer Paul O’Grady, said: “We’ve been friends for almost 20 years”.

She was introduced to music mogul Brian Epstein by Lennon, and was eventually signed by Parlophone Records in 1963, enjoying a huge hit with a cover of Burt Bacharach’s Anyone Who Had a Heart in February, 1964. Black had a string of hits including Step Inside Love and Surround Yourself with Sorrow, before branching out into TV presenting with her own variety show, Cilla, which ran from 1968 to 1976, and comedy series Cilla’s Comedy Six in 1975.
Barbara Windsor, who had known Black for many years, said: “Oh it’s bad”.

And UK Labour party leader Harriet Harman also tweeted saying: “An icon of her era. She’s such a strong lady”, O’Grady added.
Comedian and game show host Jimmy Tarbuck, who had been friends with Black for more than 50 years, described her as “Liverpool’s Cinderella”.
“I will always think of her as outrageous, funny, incredibly gifted but above all full of heart”.
