Watch Sony’s PlayStation E3 2017 press conference live here
Polygon says Microsoft representatives will be available at the PC Gaming Show to show “how Xbox plays into [Windows 10] PC”. Typically, the conference runs about 90 minutes, but Xbox head honcho Phil Spencer warns viewers they’re going to run longer than usual so that they can accommodate all of the games they want to show off. The Xbox E3 2017 briefing is expected to bring news on Project Scorpio, including its official name, price, and release date. VR hasn’t taken the world by storm, but it’s also not floundering; at this point, it’s mostly settling.
According to analyst Michael Pachter, it seems that we can expect to see Microsoft return to the original Xbox One price of $399.
Earlier this May, Microsoft confirmed that Xbox Scorpio’s development has been smoothly progressing, with the console still on track to launch this holiday season.
On the same note, focusing only on multiplatform games is a sure sign that Microsoft doesn’t have much in the way of an exclusive lineup.
Other titles we’d like to hear more about would be a new Wolfenstein, a sequel to The Evil Within and their mysterious Starfield project. Every year there’s a new Forza game, alternating between the main Motorsport series and the Horizon sub-series.
The Ubisoft conference is always one of our favourite ones to watch. E3 is a time for hopes, dreams, and heartbreaks- with the latter being something that all of us, as gamers, and as fans of the medium, probably want to avoid seeing much of. We know how Project Scorpio’s tech specs stand up against the PlayStation 4 Pro and the Nintendo Switch. Here are the big announcements we expect to see at E3 2017.
There’s also Knack 2, Days Gone and Kingdom Hearts 3 to look forward to. Breath of the Wild ate up a ton of attention previous year, and since excitement around that particular title has died down a little bit, one can expect another major announcement from Nintendo regarding another one of their landmark properties.
On top of 4K games, Project Scorpio is primed to be an excellent way to watch 4K movies and TV shows. Also in the E3 week, Nintendo will also hold video game tournaments featuring “Splatoon 2” and “ARMS”. If Gamers appear primed to flock to Microsoft’s new hardware, than Sony has to do something with its PlayStation platform to ensure it stays atop the gaming mountain.
