Man United legend Roy Keane slams Arsenal’s hopes of winning Premier League
R OY KEANE has dismissed Arsenal’s chances of winning the Premier League, accusing a few of Arsene Wenger’s players of being more interested in the way t hey look than in winning football matches.
The 43-year-old enjoyed 12 successful years at Old Trafford under Sir Alex Ferguson and captained his side to many titles.
But it’s about having a good team, characters who roll their sleeves up, not just those trying to get their pictures every day of the week, selfies.
“Ah listen, we have the same thing every year”, Keane asserted. Instead of specializing in profitable Premier League titles, it’s all about how their our bodies look and the way their hair is.
“What worries me about United is the fact that even though they have bought so many good players this year – it is hard to get them all to gel quickly”, he said, as quoted on Sky Sports.
Keane’s rivalry with the Gunners extends to his playing days, and it doesn’t seem to have withered one bit.
“Look at all the players they’ve bought over the last couple of years”. Keane has however, reignited his feud with the North London club after complaining about the Arsenal FC players” interest in “selfies’.
High-profile signings this summer time are an indication Man United have gone away from what they have been about, says Roy Keane.
The Gunners have won the FA Cup for two consecutive seasons but not lifted the Premier League trophy since 2003-04, a record which Keane does not see changing until they address the culture inside their dressing room.
Last season, under Jose Mourinho, Chelsea – built around a strong spine of hard-working, physical players – stifled their closest rivals to canter to the league title and Keane said the Stamford Bridge side remained the benchmark in the upcoming season. I’m not sure many would get into the Chelsea team.
“They will only be in trouble if they are complacent but I don’t think it is in their nature to take their foot off the gas”.
