Does Lukaku to Man Utd mean Morata to Chelsea?

On Thursday morning, BBC’s Simon Stone reported that Mourinho and co are splashing out for the Belgian global, and it will effectively end their pursuit of Real Madrid striker Alvaro Morata.

According to BBC, Manchester United have agreed a price worth 75 million pounds to sign the Belgian worldwide from the Toffees in the summer transfer window.

United and Everton have agreed a £75m fee for the Belgium global, who had always been linked with a return to Stamford Bridge.

Many expected Lukaku to head to Chelsea this summer after he reportedly told his agent, Mino Raiola, also representative to the world’s most expensive player, Paul Pogba, that he wanted to return to Stamford Bridge.

This led the Premier League side to turn to plan B: Romelu Lukaku, even if José Mourinho didn’t particularly want him at Chelsea.

It leaves Chelsea looking to pick back up their interest in Real Madrid striker Alvaro Morata, who seemed destined to be in a United shirt until the turnaround in Lukaku’s future.

Both teams have made Lukaku their main priority, but United’s move for Lukaku now puts Belotti into contention behind Real Madrid’s Morata.

Wayne Rooney’s glittering career at Manchester United is all but over, with the twilight of his career set to start where it all began.

The 24-year-old, who joined Everton permanently in 2014, scored 25 goals and provided six assists in 37 league games last season to finish as the league’s second highest scorer.

However, sources at Everton maintain no deal or agreement has been reached.

Coupled with the departure of Zlatan Ibrahimovic this summer, Mourinho needed a new striker, and he’s got a familiar face in Lukaku after their brief stint together at Chelsea.

Lukaku has proven he can score goals – and lots of them – in the Premier League, whereas Morata might be something of a gamble.
