Sunderland: Move on for midfielder
Leroy Fer and Yann M’Vila will complete moves to Sunderland this week, according to the Guardian.
The 25-year-old is set to leave Rubin Kazan and he has been training with Dynamo Moscow and played in a friendly last month, but Sunderland are now believed to be in pole position.
It was the second successive relegation for the Holland star, 25, who moved to QPR for £8million last summer after going down with Norwich.
L’Equipe are reporting that talks between the player and the club are at an advanced stage and the holding midfielder is close to signing for the Black Cats.
QPR on the other hand may be looking forward to getting Fer’s wages off their wage budget for the season, giving them more room to move in the transfer market.
But Fer will add a much-needed goal threat to Sunderland’s midfield, with M’Vila a defensive-minded player.
Advocaat said: “We are where we are, but I think the chairman is doing great”.
“So it’s not just about what we do now, it’s also about working through some of the things that were already here”.
Reports implied that the Dutchman was looking to bring Tottenham Hotspur’s Moussa Dembele to the Stadium of Light, but those rumours have died down recently and now it is understood that M’Vila and Fer will both be joining up with Sunderland’s squad this week instead.
The Black Cats have also been offered Brazilian striker Pato, but are unlikely to pursue the former AC Milan frontman.
