Malayalam actress assault case: Dileep’s AMMA membership revoked amid arrest

The Association of Malayalam Movie Artists (AMMA) held an emergency executive meeting and removed Dileep from its primary membership. And nearly all of the actor’s friends in the industry seem to have deserted him after his arrest. “We are now questioning him”, DGP Lokanath Behera told reporters on Monday night.

The Kerala Women’s Commission today registered a case against popular Malayalam actor Dileep and three others from the industry over their alleged derogatory comments against an actress who was abducted and molested in a moving vehicle earlier this year. Actor Nadrishah is also being interrogated in the case.

“Dileep has been arrested. He will be produced in #Angamaly Magistrate Court today”.

Last week Police has questioned Dileep and the director Nadirsha for 13 hours in connection with probe. The arrest has two purposes; to further the investigation and to collect more evidence, he explained.

“I am innocent and I will prove my innocence”.

The South Indian actress kidnapped and molested while she was moving home in a auto from work.

Dileep Arrested In Actress Kidnapping Case: Actor Dileep along with others molested the south Indian actress for two hours in a moving auto. The body has said that it stands in solidarity with the Malayalam actress and will extend all support to her. “I was trapped”, the actor said on Tuesday before being taken to the Aluva sub-jail.

If the reports are to be believed, Kavya Madhavan was well aware of Dileep’s connections with the main accused of the actress attack case, Sunil Kumar alias Pulsar Suni.

It is learnt that the actor who was abducted and harassed had revealed to the divorcee about Dileep’s links with his current spouse and insisted that she file for divorce, much against his wishes.

There were protests by the Democratic Youth Federation of India, the Youth Congress and the Yuva morcha and BJP workers against the actor when he was brought to the Aluva police club. The actor and friend Nadhirshah said that they were called by Pulsar Suni’s cellmate Vishnu to give a hefty sum not to be included in their statements.
