Ed Sheeran To Appear On The Simpsons
Ed Sheeran just crossed that one out.
Whilst there was a lot of hate, or at least enough to make Ed quit Twitter, there were also positive comments too.
The Grammy victor plays a member of a group of traveling soldiers previously stationed in King’s Landing who sang a song to capture the attention of Arya Stark.
Sheeran appeared early on in the episode as a Lannister soldier hanging out with his comrades, singing (natch) and cooking a rabbit on a spit when Arya Stark (Maisie Williams) comes along.
It’s unknown whether Sheeran’s character on Game of Thrones will return for a future episode. And while it’s certainly new to fans of the show, the song may have sounded familiar to those who have read the books.
Joke’s on them, we suppose ― he just deleted the whole account.
Sheeran is polarizing at the best of times; that his appearance was maligned by some (and loved by others) is hardly a surprise.
“Giiiirrrrrllls I f*** with theeeeem”, read a message from November 2010. He said: “I will 100 per cent do Strictly Come Dancing one day”.
After 6 magical seasons, Ed Sheeran ruined Game of Thrones in 3 minutes. “I go on it and there’s nothing but people saying mean things”, he said. But even before Westeros happened, many dedicated Lady Gaga fans pushed him off the website for a hot second after assuming he had spoken poorly about her in an interview.
Sheeran’s set to feature in a musical-themed episode called “Haw-Haw Land”, as a character named Brendan who becomes the object of Lisa’s affection.
On Instagram, however, Sheeran seems to be in “good spirits” as he shared a photo with girlfriend Cherry Seaborn climbing the mountains in Peru.
