Chelsea agree deal to sign Real Madrid’s Alvaro Morata

Real Madrid striker Alvaro Morata is on the verge of leaving the club for Chelsea, according to multiple reports in the Spanish, Italian and British press.
Former Liverpool striker Dean Saunders says Morata is a gamble for Chelsea as he has no previous Premier League experience. With Conte having also just signed a new contract – what a 24 hours it’s been at Chelsea Football Club! – there’s hopefully no danger of that history repeating itself.
“We are not a club that is ready to pay what the clubs want us to pay so I’m ready to go from four to three”.
Costa was told by Conte last month that he had no future at Chelsea in a heated text exchange and the pair have never seen eye to eye.
Mourinho would ideally like to sign a further two players but has come to the terms with the fact only one may arrive in this inflated market.
The move will reunite Morata with Antonio Conte, who signed him for Juventus back in the summer of 2014 before taking up the national team job with Italy.
Though disappointed at missing out on Romelu Lukaku, Conte worked with Morata at Juventus and wanted him last summer. Since then, Costa has effectively been dictating the terms of his own departure. With the right manager to inspire some confidence in the forward, there’s no doubt Morata can blossom into the star striker many expected he’d become.
Chelsea have reportedly agreed a £70.6m fee with Real for Morata.
He taunted Conte and Chelsea by going onto social media playing around on quad bikes, wearing an Atletico Madrid shirt and playing music – all while his team mates sweated during pre-season trading.
Even if City decide that Aguero is expendable, it would be astonishing to the point of incomprehensible for them to give one of the world’s most formidable goal scorers to one of their biggest Premier League rivals.
