Game of Thrones fans divided over Theon Greyjoy’s ‘heartbreaking’ decision
Any Game of Thrones fan knows by now that there are a lot of locations to keep up with on the show, even though there are still some that don’t manage to get a lot of screen time. But neither is Cersei, she’s gathering every resource she has.
Samwell Tarly, Jon’s sworn brother, whose character arc has always been accused for being a convenient ex machina, has finally begun to come of his own, helping the much adored Ser Jorah Mormont, this generation’s Severus Snape, overcome his deadly greyscale bout.
“When Euron has his sister, and Theon can try to rescue her, you know, against all the odds, he can’t do it”, Benioff added.
In the episode, Dany holds a strategy meeting with Yara (Gemma Whelan), Ellaria (Indira Varma) and Olenna, resulting in an epic speech by the Tyrell matriarch. Robb, the eldest, named his Grey Wind, and they fought side by side in his campaign to the south. The GoT series steadily moves towards its end and another installment just came live on Hotstar. Cersei, now sitting on the Iron Throne, and Petyr Baelish, who is doing his best to get there, seem to be in a much better position.
My gut reaction is there will be some head butting between Jon and Dany when they first meet and it’ll be imperative for Tyrion to help the two powerful leaders and rulers to compromise and realize they have to come together or risk everything falling apart.
Instead, it was Iron Islands vs.
Yara’s fleet is firebombed, her men slaughtered. (My notes describe them simply as whip girl, spear girl, dagger girl, and Ellaria.) It’s a cool series of fights, with appropriately brutal moments, and it’s purely gorgeous to behold on screen and nearly as lovely as Oberyn’s fight with the Mountain. We’ve enjoyed Ellaria’s fighting daughters for a few seasons now, all of them as angry and manipulative as Ellaria. He obviously wanted to capture Ellaria Sand, and perhaps Yara too, in order to deliver them as gifts to Cersei.
During tonight’s episode of the top-rated drama series, the service crashed out for a wide array of people just trying to enjoy a insane battle scene with Euron Greyjoy’s ships and some other good stuff.
The trailer also hints at the fallout from the great sea battle between Euron (Pilou Asbaek) and Yara (Gemma Whelan). It wasn’t Theon’s proudest moment, but at the same time, what would have been the better play in that moment? He looked around and saw Euron’s men torturing the people they captured, and he likely could not face that torture again. In these photos, it can clearly be seen that Yara, Ellaria, and one of the Sandsnakes are being paraded through the streets of King’s Landing by Euron, presumably to be brought as thatgift for Cersei.
In the video clip, we can see Arya staring at a wolf. That he’s also quite charming and intelligent makes him a unsafe foe. Well he may not have concrete proof, but he had deduced something was going on with Lyanna and Rhaegar and that she was more than his hostage.
Hot Pie told Arya that Jon Snow won the Battle of the Bastards and is now the King in the North. It’s unclear if he’ll bend the knee, but he just might as he has lost all interest in the battle for the Iron Throne.
