Trump Claims 3 Apple Manufacturing Plants Will Come to US
US President Donald Trump has claimed that Apple plans to build three factories in the US. It is still uncertain exactly what these manufacturing plants will create. As Apple’s largest supplier and assembler of iPhones, the company will bring thousands of jobs to the Midwestern state. “I spoke to (Cook)، he’s promised me three big plants – big، big، big،” said President Trump. Apple products are now assembled by little babies overseas, namely in China. Cook did show up to last year’s Trump tech meeting, a gathering which many big wigs in the industry refused to attend. It’s the only Apple device made in the U.S. But the Mac Pro is nowhere near as popular as the iPhone – it’s easier to manufacture it in the U.S. This is why it’s quite likely that either Trump did not understand what Cook said or the Apple CEO never made such promises, to begin with. Ever since then, Apple has been actively showing how it contributes to job creation in America.
In the first scenario, Apple would get components for the iPhone, such as the memory chip, processor, and display screen, shipped to its hypothetical plants in the USA from around the world and put it together in the plants. Apple already committed 0 million of that fund to Gorilla Glass-maker Corning Incorporated.
CNBC reports Corning, based in western NY, said it would “immediately” invest $500 million and create 1,000 new jobs in the USA related to medical devices – not smartphones or tablets.
In a series of posts, Trump said he chose to keep a ban on transgender military applicants in place because “our military must be focused on decisive and overwhelming…victory and can not be burdened with the tremendous medical costs and disruption that transgender in the military would entail”. If Apple planned to start its own manufacturing facilities in the United States or anywhere else, it would need to completely upend how it does business. But Apple shares are up about 75 cents on Wednesday. Jobs Mob is refusing to comment on the President’s comments.
