Game of Thrones fan theories that will blow your mind (spoilers, duh!)
It looks like we have waved goodbye to another famous face on HBO’s Game of Thrones, as Indira Varma has confirmed that she will not return to the show for the rest of season 7 (and beyond).
This episode came with lots of desired hopes. Warning: moderate spoilers ahead!
During The Queen’s Justice we saw Ellaria Sand and her daughter Tyene brought to King’s Landing as a gift to Cersei from Euron Greyjoy to allow her to seek revenge on them for killing her daughter Myrcella. Even as she faced death, she still had the last laugh.
Considering the way that the pieces were moving leading into Game of Thrones season 7, it feels safe to say that things haven’t played out quite the way that fans expected. Meanwhile, some characters that many thought were down and out haven’t been.
Maybe it was inevitable that we’d get a taste of the old Tyrion. Perhaps this interaction convinced Arya to change her path and to venture off to complete what she set out. Cersei’s better half went to visit the Queen of Thorns, and the old lady knew what that meant: Her time on this earth was nearly over.
Think about it: Margaery was one of the few people who knew that Olenna was behind Joffrey’s death, although she was pretty slow about figuring out what had happened and why. In the book, there was another prophecy, that she would be murdered by the Valonqar. This isn’t as much of a show in that it’s really not witnessed by her subjects aside from Qyburn, who’s loyal, and the Mountain, who really can’t talk anyway. We’ll find out all too soon. Maybe they’ll finally warm up to each other. She calls a trio of dragons her children, for god’s sake.
Has Jon Snow met his match?
Many fans also noted that although claiming she’s the last Targaryen, Daenerys is actually Jon Snow’s aunt, after the R+L=J theory was proven correct at the end of the last season.
Reddit user GifHorsesMouth drew attention to the moment when Ser Davos spoke about the Wildlings and Northern Lords’ decision to follow Jon, comparing it to the season three scene in which Ser Barristan told Daenerys about Rhaegar’s leadership at the Battle of the Trident.
