‘Bachelorette’ Episode 10 Recap: The Men Tell All
“If I’m just honest, I’m going to be 100 percent honest, I’m just going to say one word: Lee”, the attorney, 32, exclusively tells Us Weekly, referring to controversial suitor Lee Garrett.
He also added that he had a lot to learn and that he was “very disappointed in the things he had put up”. Then they both got sent home for being unworthy of anyone’s attention or time. He repeated that and other phrases over and over, like “I learned a lot”, from the time on the show and the backlash against him. Sadly, nothing exciting came of this.
However, DeMario Jackson, who himself hit the headlines over a “Bachelor in Paradise” sex scandal (which he did NOT mention at all during the “Bachelorette” special) was confused, saying Lee was nice to him.
But don’t worry, Lindsay noticed-and she promptly told the time. All you need to know is Dean loved Rachel, he was happy to reconnect with his dad on TV and he is going to be on Bachelor in Paradise. DeMario asks for photo evidence that he and this girl Lexi ever dated, calling it “ocular proof”, which is a phrase I really hope catches on in court rooms. I would be so down to watch that.
“I loved the guys were responding without anger and more of support and trying to educate Lee”.
The insider said, “somehow, Rachel didn’t manage to make the flight for some reason”. He tried to apologize and was called out on the timing of his apology. “You’re not acknowledging the kind of invisible racism in your mind”. Take that as you will. Chris calls him a “big ol’ softie”, which is why everyone loves the sensitive pro wrestler.
Chris didn’t want Kenny to be without his daughter another day due to Bachelorette duties, so he surprised him by bringing in his daughter out to the taping.
Lee’s reputation on the show was one of an instigator, a gossip, a liar and a braggart. Lee stresses this is all a misunderstanding and everything was meant to be a joke, but his fellow season 13 contestants are really not having it and use the next 30 minutes to give him a verbal tongue lashing and a half.
The highlight of The Men Tell All came when Lee’s lying and racism was laid bare thanks to Chris Harrison channeling his inner Oprah.
Meanwhile, Rachel also said of the final breakup, “That was the hardest moment in general”.
Dean used The Men Tell All to finally explain why he would agree to a televised reunion with his estranged father.
After far too many weeks of Rachel Lindsay’s season of “The Bachelorette” were wasted on contestant Lee Garrett’s race-baiting, deception and pot-stirring, the “Men Tell All” episode unfortunately forced us all to relive his unpleasant arc on the show. I’m distracted because I’m pretty sure Dean is wearing booties.
Lee takes the stage and tries to explain away his pompous racism as him being facetious and not being a better friend. “I’m black. I knew it would be something to talk about, but it wasn’t something that we had to continually go on and on and on about when I had the relationship with the men, which I appreciated”.
