Leicester City: N’Golo Kante signs from Caen
LONDON Leicester City have signed midfielder N’Golo Kante from French Ligue 1 side Caen, the Premier League club announced on Monday.
Kante, who has a reputation as a tough tackler, scored two goals in 37 appearances for Caen last season.
Kante has already passed a medical for the Foxes and will be confirmed as Ranieri’s first signing this week in a deal worth around £5.6million.
“I left the training camp in tears on Friday, because I really care for everyone”. I am waiting and I am very confident.
The 24-year-old Frenchman becomes new Leicester boss Claudio Ranieri’s first signing, although Robert Huth, Christian Fuchs and Shinji Okazaki had joined prior to the Italian’s arrival this summer.
One target now unlikely to follow in Kante’s footsteps is Charles Aranguiz, after the Chile midfielder confirmed he favours a move to Bayer Leverkusen. “I think that I will make an important step in my career through that – I hope those in charge will understand this sporting aspect”. “I didn’t want to leave Atalanta and would gladly have stayed, but an offer of €8m is a lot for a club like Atalanta”.
