Deadpool 2: First look at Josh Brolin as Cable revealed
The role of the X-Men character was one of the hottest properties past year as Deadpool producers searched for the ideal actor to take on Ryan Reynolds in Deadpool 2. However, it’s the teddy bear that draws more attention.
There has been no official announcement regarding Hope’s inclusion in Deadpool 2 or about how her character will factor into its story.
Well, he won’t… but his identical twin might – famous as a villain known for uniting the mutant world in the comics.
Jokes about extreme 90s comic book designs aside though, I dig this look.
As Deadline notes, Cable got his start in the 1986 comic “Uncanny X-Men”.
Is Hope Summers going to make an appearance in Deadpool 2?
Keep in mind, Brolin is the same guy from The Goonies.
Hope first appeared in X-Men #205 during the “Messiah Complex” storyline. And that’s where the time travel comes into the story.
So if the Techno-Organic Virus can do that to Brandon from The Goonies, then sign us up! That forced Nathan’s parents to send him into the future where the disease could be managed and when he finally returns to this timeline, he has already become Cable.
The dead serious Cable became the ideal comic foil for Deadpool when, after the cancellation of their solo comics, they teamed up for Deadpool & Cable in 2004.
Reynolds – a prolific social media user with more than 6.6 million followers – has been leaving little Deadpool teaser breadcrumbs the past few weeks as production got underway. Cable and Domino were lovers in the comics, and since they’re both being introduced at the same time, it seems pretty likely that the movies would follow that route.
