Mostly cloudy with some scattered showers today
Moisture acts as fuel to development, strengthening what would be weaker rain showers into lightning-producing storms. That chance is based on confidence and coverage of rainfall through the day; some get a lot, some get very little (or nothing at all). We will have partly cloudy skies, which mean warmer temperatures in the afternoon.
There is not much of a change for the weekend.
Some show the next area of low pressure pushing in as early as Sunday night, while some suggest more toward Monday. While it’s hit-or-miss overall, any storm could become strong to severe. Temperatures are in the upper 70s to lower 80s.
The cold front will move off the coast. See the Weather Xtreme video for maps, graphics, and more details. Highs will be at or below our seasonal average of 91. We have one weak tropical wave just southeast of Daytona Beach, Florida; development is not expected there.
Friday rain chances are again high with the best rain chances during the afternoon.
Speaking of – the forecast is changing quite a bit for Saturday and Sunday. The afternoon will feature a mix of sun and clouds.
Thursday. Partly sunny. Scattered showers and storms possible. Rain Heavy at Times.
Saturday: Showers and thunderstorms likely mainly before 1 p.m. Otherwise, mostly sunny, with a high near 76.
Saturday: Mix of Sun and Clouds.
Scattered storms continue for Tuesday.
The storms will taper by early Sunday. Partly cloudy skies should return Thursday with afternoon temperatures in the middle 90s.
Friday looks to be another hot day, being partly sunny with a high near 91 and a heat index around 100.
