Neymar named in PSG squad to face Guingamp
Neymar is officially available to play, according to French soccer’s governing body, which confirmed on Twitter that the final paperwork to complete his world-record transfer from Barcelona had been received from Spain on Friday.
Mbappe will be the second most expensive player in football history, losing only his future teammate Neymar transfer which was worth 222 million euros.
Barcelona legend Xavi has aimed a sly parting dig at Neymar after his transfer to Paris Saint-Germain by calling Lionel Messi the best player in the world and Luis Suarez the best striker.
Mbappe has started both of Monaco’s games so far this season, although he didn’t score in the 2-1 Champions Trophy defeat to PSG or in last Friday’s 3-2 win over Toulouse that began their title defence. The upcoming season promises a lot of challenges for Monaco and if Leonardo Jardim manages to drill his team to strong tactics and a stronger mentality, they can compete once again for the top prizes.
The president said; “The way he acted was certainly not the best and not the kind of behaviour that we want from a player of Barcelona”. “They have removed a player who could sometimes be inconsistent”. Or will he? Doubts over the champions league medalist’s availability have emerged as reports say there may still be obstacles to overcome concerning the money transfers for the Neymar deal, begging the question that is if he will make his debut this Sunday after all.
PSG have, however, already been busy this summer adding the likes of Neymar, Dani Alves and Yuri Berchiche to their ranks and will not be tabling a bid for another high-profile addition.
“I’m really looking forward to it, but at the end of the day we have to try and come away with a result regardless of the size of PSG”.
Neymar’s lawyer now says that they will not report Barcelona to Federation Internationale de Football Association and says that lines of communication are still open between the two sides. “Any good player today is worth millions”. But, should they lose Lanzini, the Hammers will turn to Brentford playmaker Jota, who is also wanted by newly promoted Newcastle.
Neymar’s move to France has been troubled since the release clause in his contract was triggered.
